These certificate programs at Springfield College help IMGs and INGs to acquire fundamental knowledge of Canadian Healthcare and develop the clinical skills needed to perform various procedures in medical/healthcare practices in a variety of healthcare settings across Canada. The program will focus upon understanding Canada Health Act and 5 important standards in Canada Healthcare Act related to the healthcare practices in Ontario as well as in Canada for the IMGs and INGs to comprehend and follow while working in their dream jobs in Canadian healthcare system. The students will understand and learn Canadian Health administration or healthcare management as the field relating to leadership, management, and administration of public health systems and healthcare system in hospitals, hospital networks, nursing facilities, medical and specialty medical offices in all the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sectors of healthcare system. The program will focus upon identifying the concepts of clients, understanding cultural diversities related to clients, Bill of Rights, HIPAA regulation, difference in needs and requirements of clients compared to global healthcare standards, ethics and applying the specific management skills, and application of various laws and legislations while working in Canadian Healthcare fields assuming most of the IMGs and INGs are not familiar with.
The program will emphasis upon integrating the existing transferable clinical skills of IMGs and INGs and providing them the opportunity to enhance the level of their expertise by making them learn the best practice of clinical skills pertaining to areas such as Phlebotomy, various Injection techniques used in healthcare, Patient Physical Health assessment, IV Administration, EKG, Medication Administration etc. The learning will help them work competently exercising their clinical skills pertaining to best practices of various procedures related to phlebotomy, patient health assessment, various Injection techniques used in healthcare, IV Administration, EKG, and medication administration in healthcare in various Canadian Healthcare settings such as Hospitals and health centers, Long-term care (LTC)facilities, Community-based organizations, Medical & Dental offices, Insurance companies, Clinical & Research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, public health organizations, Medical and diagnostic laboratories, Nursing or residential care facilities. The learning will also help them competently represent the facility, maintaining open lines of communication with members of the medical staff and department head to enable the system to function swiftly and efficiently.

Students will get knowledge and skills related to changing concepts and technology in diverse Canadian healthcare settings in modern times, providing healthcare to general and certain populations, managing client care experience, ensuring an organization’s compliance with medical and legal regulations and internal policies. The program will also focus upon knowledge and information about privacy rule definitions, common misconceptions-healthcare operations, de-identified information, and disclosure pursuant to an authorization related to medical practices and hospital record management.

Students will learn how to improve quality in delivery of healthcare services by keeping up to date with changes in healthcare standards and technology such as software, electronic record system, lab reporting etc. and regulatory mandates. The program highlights delivering a balance of social, economic, cultural, medical, legal, and ethical approaches to the understanding of diverse aspects of the ideal healthcare delivery systems along with clinical skills expertise and management disciplines.
